Job summary

AIA Digital+ Philippines is seeking a storage and backup infrastructure specialist to manage on‑prem storage, backups, and disaster recovery. You will work with IBM TSM, VTL, DSI, and enterprise storage platforms, ensuring security, capacity planning, and regulatory compliance.

Collaboration across teams and vendors is essential. The role involves optimizing performance, budgeting, and ensuring service availability to minimise business impact from outages, with experience in hybrid cloud storage

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in information technology or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant storage and backup experience.
• Hands-on with storage and backup components; equivalent experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure IT service availability and minimise business impact of outages.
• Deploy, configure and maintain on-premises storage systems (SAN/NAS/hybrid).
• Monitor performance, availability and capacity of storage infrastructure.
• Manage backup tools and technologies (IBM TSM, VTL, DSI).
• Provide first-level support for storage platforms (IBM FlashSystem, NetApp AFF).
• Implement robust backup and disaster recovery solutions; conduct testing.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks and optimize.
• Ensure security and compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Assist budget delivery and relate objectives; report on performance.

Job description

With respect to technology knowledge

• Ensures IT service availability and minimises the AIA's business impact of IT service outages through the effective management.
• Contributes to the improvement of user satisfaction with IT services by ensuring that the arrangements remain aligned with business needs and priorities and fit for purpose.

Storage Infrastructure Management:

• Deploy, configure and maintain of on-premises storage systems, including SAN, NAS, and hybrid solutions.
• Monitor the performance, availability, and capacity of storage infrastructure.
• Manage storage lifecycles, including upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning of legacy systems.

Backup Infrastructure Management:

• Perform day-to-day operations of data backup services, ensuring timely and accurate backups across the organization.
• Manage backup tools and technologies, including but not limited to IBM TSM, VTL, DSI, and other enterprise-grade solutions

Vendor and Technology Expertise:

• Act as the 1st level support for enterprise storage platforms such as IBM FlashSystem, EMC PowerMax/PowerStore, Pure Storage FlashArray, and NetApp AFF systems.
• Act as the 1st level support for enterprise data backup solutions such as IBM TSM / VTL, DSI.
• Work with vendors for any major enhancement and updates.

Disaster Recovery and Data Protection:

• Implement robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions for on-premises storage systems & data backup systems.
• Conduct regular testing and audits of disaster recovery processes.

Performance Monitoring and Optimization:

• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies.
• Generate and analyze reports on utilization, performance, and incidents.

Security and Compliance:

• Work with security team to ensure systems are secure and compliant with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
• Implement access controls, encryption, and other security measures to protect sensitive data.

Budget & Resource Management:

• Assist to manage related budget.
• Delivery of functional objectives within budget targets
• Attainments of objectives and effectiveness of results.
• Performance Scorecard.
• Compliance and Audit Ratings.

Relevant Experience

• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Hands on experience on position related technical components.

OR

• An equivalent combination of qualifications and relevant experience.

Education

• Bachelor's degree holder of unviersity on Information Technology or related discipline

Technical Skills

• Deep knowledge of storage technology and data backup solutions
• Familiarity with storage and backup management tools and software
• Strong understanding of data protection, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Experience with hybrid cloud storage integrations and cloud-based backup solutions is a plus
