Job summary

Coherent Corp. is seeking a seasoned Quality Assurance lead in the Philippines to drive end-to-end QA activities and resolve complex quality issues. The role partners with engineering, production, and customers to ensure production readiness and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in semiconductor/electronics quality, strong problem-solving skills, and proficiency in QA tools and data analysis. On-site role with collaboration across functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electronic engineering or equivalents required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in semiconductor/electronics/optoelectronics.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end QA activities and manage complex quality issues.
• Review and approve quality plans, PFMEA, control plans, inspection standards, validation results.
• Lead line qualification and ensure production readiness.
• Establish and improve inspection methods and QC systems.
• Analyze quality data, trends, DPPM, and customer complaints.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Production, SQE, and customers on critical issues.
• Conduct internal, customer, and supplier audits.
• Provide direction, coaching, and mentoring to associates.
• Prepare management reports and dashboards for quality improvement.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead end-the-end quality activities of quality assurance and control.
• Independently manage complex quality issues and lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Review and approve quality plans, PFMEA, Control Plans, inspection standards, and validation results.
• Lead line qualification activities to ensure production readiness.
• Establish and improve inspection methods, and quality-control systems.
• Analyze quality trends, yield, DPPM, customer complaints, and cost-of-poor-quality data.
• Lead cross-functional improvement projects to reduce defects, scrap, rework, and customer concerns.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Production, SQE, and customers on critical quality issues.
• Conduct and support internal, customer, and supplier audits.
• Review and approve containment, material disposition, corrective-action, and risk-mitigation plans within assigned authority.
• Provide technical direction, coaching, and mentoring to Associate Engineers, Inspectors, and production personnel.
• Prepare management reports, dashboards, project updates, and recommendations for quality improvement.
• Escalate significant quality risks and support management in quality-related decisions.

Education & Experience

• A bachelor's degree in electronic engineering or its equivalents with at least 5 years of relevant work experience semiconductor or electronics / optoelectronics industry.

Skills

• Knowledge of Quality Assurance and Control processes.
• Knowledge of NPI, line qualification, process validation, and production readiness.
• Proficiency in 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA, Control Plan, SPC, and CAPA.
• Ability to analyze quality data, defects, yield, DPPM, and process trends.
• Familiarity with audits, Gage R&R, process capability, and measurement-system analysis.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, work instructions, and quality standards.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, coordination, and project-management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of JMP, Minitab, or similar tools is an advantage.
• Ability to prepare technical reports and quality presentations.
• Demonstrates keen attention to detail, data-driven thinking, and effective decision-making.
• Demonstrates strong leadership and effective people-management skills.
