Job summary

Coherent Philippines Pte Ltd is seeking a seasoned Quality Assurance/Control leader to drive end-to-end QA/QC activities in a 100% onsite setting. You will independently manage complex quality issues, lead root-cause investigations, and approve quality plans, PFMEA, and Contro Plans while coordinating with Engineering, Production, and customers on critical issues.

• Experience leading quality assurance and control in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and CAPA.

Job Description:

• Lead end-the-end quality activities of quality assurance and control.
• Independently manage complex quality issues and lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Review and approve quality plans, PFMEA, Control Plans, inspection standards, and validation results.
• Lead line qualification activities to ensure production readiness.
• Establish and improve inspection methods, and quality-control systems.
• Analyze quality trends, yield, DPPM, customer complaints, and cost-of-poor-quality data.
• Lead cross-functional improvement projects to reduce defects, scrap, rework, and customer concerns.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Production, SQE, and customers on critical quality issues.
• Conduct and support internal, customer, and supplier audits.
• Review and approve containment, material disposition, corrective-action, and risk‑mitigation plans within assigned authority.
• Provide technical direction, coaching, and mentoring to Associate Engineers, Inspectors, and production personnel.
• Prepare management reports, dashboards, project updates, and recommendations for quality improvement.
• Escalate significant quality risks and support management in quality‑related decisions.

Education & Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering or its equivalents with at least 5 years of relevant work experience semiconductor or electronics / optoelectronics industry.

Skills

• Knowledge of Quality Assurance and Control processes.
• Knowledge of NPI, line qualification, process validation, and production readiness.
• Proficiency in 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA, Control Plan, SPC, and CAPA.
• Ability to analyze quality data, defects, yield, DPPM, and process trends.
• Familiarity with audits, Gage R&R, process capability, and measurement‑system analysis.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, work instructions, and quality standards.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication, coordination, and project‑management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of JMP, Minitab, or similar tools is an advantage.
• Ability to prepare technical reports and quality presentations.
• Demonstrates keen attention to detail, data‑driven thinking, and effective decision‑making.
• Demonstrates strong leadership and effective people‑management skills.
