Job summary

Western Digital invites applications for a Hardware Development Engineer in Biñan, Laguna. You will support HDD development by planning tests for spacing, tribology, and metrology, analyze data, generate reports, and lead technicians while operating advanced characterization tools.

Candidates should hold a Master’s in Applied Physics, Physics, or Materials Science and Engineering with relevant years of experience, or a Bachelor’s with more experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (or Bachelor’s with extensive experience) in Applied Physics, Physics, or Materials Science and Engineering with relevant tribology/metrology work.
• Industry exposure in Semiconductor or Electronics manufacturing is highly preferred.
• Open to on-site work in Binan City, Laguna, CALABARZON, Philippines.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute tests to evaluate HDD spacing, tribology, and metrology.
• Apply statistical analysis to interpret experimental data and derive insights.
• Generate comprehensive reports and provide design feedback based on results.
• Develop automation scripts to streamline data processing and report generation.
• Lead projects and supervise technicians to meet timelines.
