Job summary

Western Digital in Biñan, Laguna is seeking a Technician IV, Manufacturing to support production quality, optimize processes, and qualify equipment in a fast-paced facility. You will perform KIV checks on critical tool parameters, assist with engineering trials, and support line maintenance to keep manufacturing operations stable and efficient.

The role requires a 4-year background in electronics or related fields, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work onsite with a shifting

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electronics Technology, Electromechanical Technology, Computer Technology, Industrial Technology, Electrical Technology or related field.
• At least 4 years of work experience in relevant field.
• Knowledge of equipment setup, qualification, tool conversion, and process verification activities.
• Experience supporting process engineers with yield improvement initiatives and engineering trials is an advantage.
• Industry exposure in Electronics or Semiconductor Manufacturing is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs KIV checking for tool critical parameters (e.g., clamping speed).
• Conducts equipment qualifications after setup and conversion.
• Supports yield improvement initiatives led by process engineers.
• Assists with experimental builds and engineering trials.
• Provides technical support resolving quality issues for internal and external customers.
• Attends stoppage meetings and coordinates repairs and qualification activities.
• Builds test pieces for line maintenance to ensure stable operations.

Job Description

Summary of the Role:

As a Technician IV, Manufacturing,you will be responsible for supporting production quality, process optimization, and equipment qualification within the manufacturing environment. Your key responsibilities include performing KIV checks on critical tool parameters, conducting equipment qualifications following setup and conversion activities, supporting yield improvement initiatives led by process engineers, and assisting with experimental builds and engineering trials. You also provide technical support in resolving quality issues for both internal and external customers, participate in ASM line OCAP activities while addressing feedback from backend teams, and build test pieces for line maintenance to ensure stable, efficient, and reliable manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities and Role Accountabilities:

• Performs KIV checking for the tool critical parameters such as clamping speed, picker teachingand other defined check items
• Performs other task assigned by process engineers for yield improvement
• Support engineer for addressing quality issues for both internal and external customers
• 4upport other experimental builds from PM, slider fab and other trials
• Attend PIS (stoppage, coordinate for repair and qualification)
• 9.Perform qualification after tool set-up and conversion
• Build test piece for Line maintenance use

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience:

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electronics Technology,Electromechanical Technology, Computer Technology, IndustrialTechnology, Electrical Technologyor a related field of study.
• Atleast 4yearsof workexperience in the relevant field.
• Knowledge of equipment setup, qualification, tool conversion, and process verification activities.
• Experience supporting process engineers with yield improvement initiatives and engineering trials is an advantage.
• Industry exposure in Electronics orSemiconductorManufacturing setup is highly preferred.

Skills and Competency Requirements:

• Understanding of equipment troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and quality issue resolution for internal and external customers.
• Ability to perform equipment qualification following setup, model, or configuration changes while ensuring compliance with established procedures.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions accurately.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, maintenance personnel, and cross-functional teams.
• Able to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and perform effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
