Job summary

Fivetran is seeking a Staff Full‑Stack Engineer to own end‑to‑end delivery across dbt Studio in the browser, the dbt VS Code extension, and the CLI workspace runtime. You’ll build the AI‑native developer experience across Python, TypeScript, React, and Kubernetes, driving features from design through to production with minimal handoffs.

This is a true full‑stack role for a distributed, remote friendly team.

Qualifications

Senior ownership of multi‑month projects with cross‑functional teams.
Hands‑on across the stack: Python, TS/React, and dev tooling.
Experience shipping editor integrations or CLI tooling.
Comfort with Kubernetes, Postgres, and observability.

Responsibilities

Own parts of the CLI workspace runtime back end and migrate users off legacy IDE.
Design and build agent‑facing experiences: streaming responses, tool calls, diff reviews.
Extend dbt into MCP integrations for AI clients like Claude and Codex.
Lead end‑to‑end projects, write plans, ship in two‑week sprints, measure impact.
Mentor engineers and participate in oncall for your surfaces.
