Job summary

Vonage is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead our Cloud Platform Engineering in an India-based team. You will shape the long-term roadmap for our Cloud-Native Kubernetes platform, building tools, automation, and scalable systems for a resilient, cost-efficient production environment.

You will mentor engineers, drive IaC using Terraform and Crossplane, manage AWS/EKS, and modernize CI/CD with GitHub Actions. Strong Go (preferred) or Python skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive software engineering experience
• Go and/or Python production-grade services and automation
• Kubernetes on AWS (EKS) at scale, multi-tenant architectures
• Terraform and Crossplane for IaC and software-defined infrastructure
• Observability toolchains: Prometheus, Grafana, Thanos, VictoriaMetrics
• CI/CD modernization with GitHub Actions and self-hosted runners
• AI-enabled software practices and engineering leadership

Responsibilities

• Collaborative technical leadership with architecture teams
• Develop platform tooling, automation, and internal bots in Go or Python
• Forecast bottlenecks and design scalable software solutions
• Mentor junior and senior engineers to raise engineering standards
• Advance IaC with Terraform and Crossplane for Kubernetes-native infra
• Handle reliability and RCA across AWS/EKS, ArgoCD, Linux
• Lead migration from legacy CI/CD to code-driven workflows with GitHub Actions
