Job summary

Global Payments in the Philippines is seeking a Staff Accountant to maintain accurate financial records, prepare journal entries, and reconcile general ledger accounts to support month-end close and regulatory reporting.

You will collaborate with stakeholders to ensure policy alignment, drive process improvements and automation, assist with audits, and uphold internal controls and data security throughout the settlement function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Accountancy and at least 2+ years in reconciliation, audit or financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and regulatory requirements.
• Proficient in reconciliations, journal entries, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
• Experience with Oracle Financials or similar ERP systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records, and regulatory requirements, including preparing journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely reporting, proper cutoffs, and resolution of discrepancies through variance analysis.
• Prepare financial statements, reports, and management summaries while collaborating with stakeholders to ensure alignment with accounting policies.
• Drive process improvements and automation initiatives by identifying inefficiencies, supporting system enhancements, and contributing to standardization efforts.
• Assist with regulatory filings and audit activities by preparing documentation, supporting internal and external audits, and ensuring adherence to internal controls and data security policies.
