Job summary

First Focus in Manila is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our US finance team. You’ll be a core member, supporting US interests of our parent company in real time, not a support act, across a multi-entity environment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting, 2+ years in accounting, solid US GAAP knowledge, and advanced Excel. We offer a hybrid work setup with competitive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required.
• 2+ years in accounting with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Solid US GAAP knowledge and financial reporting experience.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, pivot tables.
• CPA credential is a plus, not a dealbreaker.
• Excellent attention to detail and error-catching ability.
• Clear, confident communication; ability to explain variances clearly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and record journal entries across asset, liability, revenue, and expense accounts for multiple service locations.
• Run month-end, quarter-end, and annual close procedures.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet and expense account reconciliations.
• Support external financial audits with schedules and documentation.
• Pull ad-hoc expense variance explanations from transaction data.
• Support process improvements and centralisation across the finance team.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

We're adding a Staff Accountant to our Manila team. This is a mid-shift role where you'll be a genuine member of our US finance team, supporting the US interests of our parent company in real time, not as a support act, but as part of the core team.

What You'll Be Doing

• Preparing and recording journal entries across asset, liability, revenue, and expense accounts for multiple service locations
• Running month-end, quarter-end, and annual close procedures
• Preparing monthly balance sheet and expense account reconciliations
• Supporting external financial audits with schedules and documentation
• Pulling together ad-hoc expense variance explanations from transaction data
• Supporting process improvements and centralisation across the finance team
• Building and maintaining working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (required)
• 2+ years in accounting with increasing levels of responsibility
• Solid US GAAP knowledge and financial reporting experience
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills. You know your way around a pivot table without having to look it up.
• CPA credential is a plus, not a dealbreaker
