Job summary

GCash is seeking a seasoned Java developer with SRE/DevOps experience to manage release governance and stabilize large-scale systems in a high-growth fintech environment.

You will oversee change control, review requests, assess risks, and drive reliability with automation and monitoring across production platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience coding in Java, with design and development of web application systems.
• Hands-on experience as an SRE or DevOps engineer.

Responsibilities

• Manage change control and release governance in production environments.
• Review change requests for impact, feasibility, and alignment with goals.
• Assess risks related to business processes, systems, and data security.
• Improve performance and stability of a large-scale distributed system.
• Design high-availability capacity and identify single points of failure.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Manage change control, protecting and managing the movement of releases in the production environment, developing common strategies for release governance, establishing consistent release management processes, creating common standards and formats for release playbooks, and standardizing release decision‑making.
• Review change requests, determining the potential impact of proposed changes, feasibility, and alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
• Calculate and communicate risks, assessing potential risks and impacts related to business processes, systems, and stakeholders, and identifying possible threats to data and security.
• Improve system performance and efficiency in a large‑scale distributed system environment, ensuring safe, stable and fast operation, and maintaining operational stability of the platform.
• Build advanced high‑availability capacity, identifying single points of failure, hotspots of concurrency, and proposing solutions.
• Handle emergencies, establishing emergency mechanisms, hemostasis, and business recovery during production failures, and coordinating a high‑synergy response.
• Build solutions to support operations and development teams, proactively implementing software that accelerates development velocity without compromising reliability (including code adjustments, automation, monitoring and alerts, and incident‑management tools).
