Job summary

Royal Caribbean Group is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to validate software features within a collaborative delivery team. You will develop test plans, cases, scripts, and automation assets, partnering with developers, analysts, product owners, and PMs to ensure quality across applications and services.

You will execute diverse testing types (functional, regression, API, UI, mobile, database) and design automated suites to keep pace with application changes, while contributing to QA

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of QA testing across applications, services, APIs, databases, and UIs.
• Hands-on experience creating and maintaining automated test suites and frameworks.
• Strong Selenium for web and Appium for mobile automation.
• Experience testing RESTful and SOAP services with RestAssured, Postman, or SOAP UI.
• CI/CD knowledge with Jenkins; build tools like Maven/Gradle.
• Experience with Jira/Confluence for project tracking.

The Senior Quality Engineer applies strong knowledge of quality assurance practices, automation frameworks, test data management, defect management, and Agile delivery to verify that software meets business and system requirements. This role is an individual contributor position and does not include team lead or direct people-management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Review business and system requirements and provide feedback on testability, completeness, and quality risks.
• Create and maintain test plans, test cases, test scripts, test data, and supporting test documentation.
• Execute functional, regression, integration, API, UI, mobile, database, and acceptance testing as needed.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites that are repeatable, scalable, and aligned with application changes.
• Identify, document, track, and validate defects using established defect management processes and tools.
• Analyze failures, troubleshoot issues, and partner with development teams to support timely resolution.
• Support test environment setup, test data preparation, exploratory testing, and release validation activities.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog refinement, demos, and retrospectives to represent quality considerations.
• Contribute to QA standards, automation best practices, reusable frameworks, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate quality status, risks, blockers, and testing progress clearly.

Required Skills / Experience

• 4-6 years of QA testing experience across applications, services, APIs, databases, and user interfaces.
• Hands-on experience creating and maintaining automated test suites and test frameworks.
• Strong experience with Selenium for web automation testing and Appium for mobile automation testing.
• Experience testing RESTful and SOAP web services using tools such as RestAssured, Postman, and SOAP UI.
• Experience with CI/CD technologies such as Jenkins and build tools such as Maven and Gradle.
• Experience with project management, collaboration, and defect tracking tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Proficiency with version control platforms such as Git, Bitbucket, and GitHub.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL database testing.
• Working knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Proficiency in core Java concepts such as OOP, exception handling, multithreading, collections, generics, and file I/O.
• Experience with Katalon Studio, Apache Kafka, Eclipse, IntelliJ, and Kubernetes is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.

Preferred Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
