Job summary

GECO Asia Pte Ltd is seeking a Junior Database Administrator (SQL) to support reliable, secure, and efficient database environments in Alabang, Muntinlupa. You will assist with monitoring, performance checks, troubleshooting, and day‑to‑day administration alongside the DBA team.

The role offers exposure to SQL, multiple database platforms, and IT service management practices, with opportunities to grow technical and operational expertise in enterprise IT environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/CS/CE or related field.
• 1–2 years of database administration experience.
• Experience with SQL and database monitoring/troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with platforms such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle.
• Knowledge of ITIL/incident and change management is an advantage.
• Willing to work shifting schedules and/or on-call.

Responsibilities

• Monitor database health, availability, and performance; assist in issue identification.
• Perform routine database administration and operational support per procedures.
• Assist with troubleshooting and escalate complex issues to senior DBAs.
• Support backups, recovery, maintenance, and other DB operations.
• Document activities and contribute to process improvements.
• Coordinate with IT teams to resolve incidents and service requests.
• Follow security, access control, and data protection procedures.
