Job summary

Private Advertiser in Taguig, Philippines seeks an experienced Sportsbook Trading Specialist to oversee pre-match and live odds, manage market risk, and coordinate with Risk, Payments, Customer Service, and Operations. You will monitor volumes, adjust limits, review unusual bets, and ensure accurate settlement while delivering daily risk reports.

Strong analytical skills and knowledge of Moneyline, Handicap, and Live Betting are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any related field.
• Strong knowledge and interest in sports, major leagues and competitions.
• Understanding of sportsbook products: Moneyline, Handicap/Spread, Over/Unders, Parlays, Live Betting.
• Good numerical and analytical skills.
• Understand probability, odds, margins, liabilities and exposure.
• Comfortable with spreadsheets and sportsbook trading systems.
• Experience in sportsbook trading/operations/risk management is highly preferred.
• Able to work rotating shifts including weekends and major events.

Responsibilities

• Ensure live odds and market availability are accurate and timely.
• Review markets for accuracy, settlement, and official results.
• Prepare daily or periodic trading and risk reports.
• Coordinate with Operations, Risk, CRM, Promotions, Customer Service, and Technical teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Odds & Market Management

• Monitor and manage pre-match and live betting odds across supported sports and leagues.

• Adjust odds, margins, handicaps, totals, and market limits based on market movement, betting activity, and risk exposure.

• Ensure sportsbook odds remain competitive against major market competitors.

• Review unusual or significant price movements and take appropriate action.

Risk & Exposure Management

• Monitor betting volume, liabilities, player exposure, and potential sportsbook losses.

• Identify high-risk markets, matches, or betting patterns.

• Adjust betting limits or odds when exposure exceeds acceptable levels.

• Escalate significant liabilities or abnormal betting activity to the Trading Manager or Risk Team.

• Maintain balanced sportsbook exposure while protecting profitability.

Live Trading

• Monitor live sporting events and betting markets in real time.

• React quickly to match developments such as goals, points, penalties, injuries, substitutions, red cards, or other key events.

• Suspend, reopen, or adjust live markets when necessary.

• Ensure live odds and market availability remain accurate and timely.

Sports & Market Monitoring

• Stay updated on sports news, team/player information, injuries, lineups, schedules, weather conditions, and other factors affecting betting markets.

• Monitor competitor sportsbook and industry market movements.

• Identify potential new betting markets, leagues, or sports products that may attract players.

Bet Monitoring & Player Analysis

• Review unusual, high-value, or potentially sophisticated betting activity.

• Identify sharp bettors, arbitrage behavior, suspicious betting patterns, or possible market exploitations.

• Coordinate with Risk, Payment, Customer Service, and Operations team when account review is required.

• Support player segmentation based on betting behavior and sportsbook risk profile.

Settlement & Market Accuracy

• Ensure markets are correctly created, displayed, suspended, and settled.

• Verify official match results and settlement rules.

• Investigate incorrect settlements, disputed bets, or market configuration issues.

• Coordinate with sportsbook providers or technical teams when system or data-feed issues occur.

Performance & Reporting

• Monitor sportsbook performance including turnover, Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR), hold percentage, warning margin, and market profitability.

• Prepare daily or periodic trading and risk reports.

• Highlight major wins/losses, abnormal market exposure, and key trading observations.

• Provide recommendations for improving sportsbook margin and overall performance.

Cross-Department Coordination

• Work closely with Operations, Risk, CRM, Promotions, Customer Service, and Technical teams.

• Provide trading input for sportsbook promotions and major sporting events.

• Advise the Operations and Marketing teams regarding high-interest matches, leagues, and betting markets.

• Support sportsbook product optimization and new market launches.

QUALIFICATION

Education

• Bachelor's degree in any related field.

Experience

• Strong knowledge and interest in sports, particularly major leagues and competitions.

• Understanding of sportsbook betting products such as Moneyline, Handicap/Spread, Over/Unders, Parlays, Player Props, and Live Betting.

• Good numerical and analytical skills.

• Ability to understand probability, odds, margins, liabilities, and betting exposure.

• Comfortable working with spreadsheets, dashboards, and sportsbook trading systems.

• Experience in sportsbook trading, sportsbook operations, risk management, or betting industry is highly preferred.

• Ability to work shifting schedules, weekends, holidays, and major sporting-event hours when required

Preferred Skills

• Experience using sportsbook back-office or trading platforms.

• Knowledge of Asianhandicap and decimal odds.

• Sports understanding of basketball, football/soccer, tennis, and other major betting sports.Familiarity with Excel / Google Sheets and basic data analysis.

• Experience in player risk profiling or sportsbook fraud/risk monitoring is an advantage.
