Job Responsibilities:
Assess students' abilities and needs through observations, interviews, and testing.
Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) in collaboration with parents, administrators, and other professionals.
Adapt general education lessons and promote inclusive education.
Deliver specialized instruction to students with various disabilities, including learning disabilities, physical disabilities, behavioral disorders, and developmental delays.
Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure effective inclusion.
Manage classroom behavior and promote a positive, supportive environment.
Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessments, and IEP documentation.
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and challenges.
Stay updated on best practices and new developments in special education.
