Job summary

Umpisa Inc. in the Philippines is seeking a Senior MuleSoft Integration Specialist to drive API design, integration architecture, and delivery within a Scrum team.

You will collaborate with business and technical teams to define requirements, create technical user stories, and mentor developers to deliver robust MuleSoft solutions. The role emphasizes design of MuleSoft APIs, data mapping, and adherence to CI/CD practices, ensuring secure, scalable integrations across enterprise systems.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Requirements

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

• Participate in Scrum Team's ceremonies and assist in creating integration-specific technical user stories;
• Consult with business and technical teams to identify integration and API related requirements;
• Design of API solutions within the scope of Customers target architecture and that leverage on existing MuleSoft platform architecture and environments and address business and technical requirements;
• Design of MuleSoft APIs / interfaces that deliver against the functional requirement specified in the Solution Architecture;
• Technical team lead & mentoring through development;
• Review existing API integration / ESB services, confirm detailed requirements & estimates;
• Review Application data models, produce API data schemas, data mapping and other inputs to design activities;
• Provide Customer Project Manager with accurate delivery tasks & timelines;
• Identify external integration dependencies (to the API team) and assist Customer Project Manager to drive their resolution;
• Define & set up or ensure adherence to foundation services (Exception handling, logging, security, config management, developer tools, automated tasks);
• Create / Assist creation of solution testing strategy and ensure MuleSoft system level test strategy and f/w is defined and in place;
• Ensure utilisation and leverage of Customers CI/CD framework and is fully leveraged for all build and deployment activities;
• Help develop standard estimates for MuleSoft API Development;
• Review & update API development estimates for all sprint work. Provide inputs on story points during sprint planning based on standards;
• Provide input to, and assist Customer Project Manager create recovery plan, as needed if budget/schedule will be missed;
• Ensure a quality solution adhering to best practices in implemented solution;
• Provide assessment and recommendation to resolve platform setup and configuration issues;
• Based on evaluation of Customer's needs, bring in best practices and recommend suitable technical solutions;
• Perform Quality & Control Assurance tasks

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, infrastructure, networking, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), servers, storage, virtualization, and security principles
• Experience designing end-to-end technology solutions for enterprise applications and complex IT environments
• Knowledge of system integration, APIs, middleware, databases, and application architecture
• Experience creating solution architecture documents, technical diagrams, and design specifications
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to present technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences

Technical Skills

• 7+ years of experience in integration solutions, including 3+ years with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform
• Strong knowledge of Mule 4, API Manager, Runtime Manager, Anypoint Studio, and Design Center
• Proficiency in RAML, OAS, DataWeave 2.0, REST, SOAP, and event-driven integrations
• Deep understanding of Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIP)
• Familiarity with messaging systems: JMS, MQ, Kafka
• Experience in DevOps practices: Git, Maven, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines
• Cloud infrastructure knowledge (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, Runtime Fabric)

Security & Compliance

• Expertise in OAuth 2.0, SAML, JWT, TLS, encryption, and identity/access control
• Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., PCI, GDPR)
