Navagis is a Google Cloud Premier Partner based in the US with offices in San Francisco, Japan, Singapore, and the Philippines. Navagis is a Location Intelligence company that enables organizations to leverage geospatial data for web and mobile operations, built on Google Maps and Google Cloud technologies.

To expand our Asia Pacific operations, we are in need of a GCP Architect to join our fast-growing team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in Cloud Systems Administration or similar.
• Extensive experience with Google Cloud Platform.

Responsibilities

• Design solutions for Navagis projects and perform design when needed based on customer feedback.
• Manage the Google Cloud Platform and Google Maps API console.
• Create and manage App Engine, Kubernetes Engine, and Compute Engine instances with access control.
• Ensure designs function at minimal cost and meet SLO/SLI/SLA targets.
• Engage in deployment activities, ensure 24x7 server operation, and provide customer-facing support.
• Assist in presales cloud support for geospatial solutions and proposals.

Your Role:

• Design solutions for Navagis projects and do the design when needed based on feedback from the customer or as part of the consulting capability (for optimization/tuning, etc).

• Manage the Google Cloud Platform and Google Maps API console.

• Strategically create instances of App Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Compute Engine. Be able to manage and grant access to the servers.

• Designs that are crafted should function as intended and at a minimal cost.

• Be responsible to guarantee stipulated SLO (Service Level Objectives), SLI (Service Level Indicators) and SLA (Service Level Agreement).

• Scope of work will be closer to SRE (service reliability engineering). SRE is SysOps, DevOps and NoOps rolled into one.

• Front and take charge of deployment activities and make sure that servers are running 24x7.

• Must provide facetime to customers, and understand their architectural needs (whether explicitly requested or implied), assist in the presentations/reports/ demonstrations where necessary or helpful.

• Work with the Navagis sales team in the provisioning of pre-sales cloud support from lead qualification to GCP-based geospatial solutions (basically, lead cloud solution and scoping to generate estimates and approaches for proposals and SOWs for potential customers). Please see further details:

• Be able to know and gain a complete sense of what the customers need (even if it is not explicitly stated), in terms of expectations and limitations.

• Examine existing systems and applications built by Navagis to identify areas for improvement and integration.

• Develop familiarity with customer's architectural functional requirements and relevant existing systems to develop project specifications.

• Be able to identify potential issues between client systems and client specifications and propose new solutions to work around these limitations where possible.

• Consider GCP costs and timelines and work hand-in-hand with the relevant members of the team on this (project manager, technical lead, business analyst, etc).

• Stay educated on new and emerging technologies/patterns/methodologies and market offerings that may be of interest to Navagis current and potential clients.

• Understand the strategic direction set by Navagis management as it relates to team goals.

• Use considerable judgment to define a solution and seek guidance on moderate to complex geospatial problems that involve cloud services.

• Assist in the application of security guidelines, policies, and frameworks for cloud location intelligence solutions.

About You:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science and/or other related courses.

• At least 5 years of working experience as a Cloud Systems Administrator or in a similar role.

• Extensive experience with Google Cloud Platform
