Job summary

BDO Unibank, Inc. is seeking a Solutions Architect in Mandaluyong to lead and support the development of the bank's solution architecture, ensuring alignment with enterprise guardrails and strategic programs.

You will collaborate with enterprise architects, program managers, and delivery teams to shape current, transition, and target state solutions, while managing technical risks and ensuring compliant implementation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software, systems, or application development.
• 3+ years in solution or solution-architecture role.
• Strong experience in banking, financial services, digital channels, or payments.
• Willing to work onsite in Ortigas.

Responsibilities

• Understand, apply and advocate BDO’s Enterprise Architecture guardrails which includes architecture principles, architecture patterns, technology standards and non-functional requirements
• Create and maintain solution patterns that will serve as a reference for reusability and standard for applicable use cases
• Understand business drivers and capabilities to define target state solutions and gaps
• Provide solution consultancy to application and infrastructure owners within projects
• Present and seek approval of solution architecture from stakeholders
• Lead cross‑team collaboration to ensure alignment with enterprise strategy
• Identify, escalate and manage technical risks and issues of the solution architecture
• Document all solution architecture work using standard templates

Job Summary

The Solutions Architect (SA) is accountable for:

• Proactively and holistically leading or supporting the activities related to the development of BDO IT’s Solution Architecture.
• Creating deliverables that provide solution direction for supporting the bank’s organizational and strategic portfolio of programs/projects where the solution should depict the current, transition and target state solutions.
• Determining as the most appropriate technology to resolve a business problem built around the parameters of enterprise architecture guardrails to aid the teams responsible for performing the project planning, implementation and operational support.
• Leading and providing guidance to technical implementation teams and other stakeholders within the organization as part of the over-all project delivery.

Duties and responsibilities:

Compliance with Enterprise Architecture

• Understand, apply and advocate BDO’s Enterprise Architecture guardrails which includes architecture principles, architecture patterns, technology standards and non-functional requirements
• Create and maintain solution patterns that will serve as a reference for reusability and standard for applicable use cases

Project Delivery and End‑to‑End Architecture Oversight:

• Understand business drivers and business capabilities (current and target states) and determine from there the corresponding solution architecture and/or change requirements to deliver the target business outcomes
• Recommend appropriate solutions and/or related processes to improve efficiency of operations based on the analysis of gaps or critical deficiencies
• Perform continual assessment of current state solutions to identify technical debt against target state solution; or transition to new or emerging technologies
• Provide solution consultancy support to application and infrastructure owners within projects to ensure alignment with the overall solutions architecture
• Present and seek approval of solution architecture from the defined approving channels and from other key stakeholders
• Work closely with the solutions architecture lead, enterprise architects, program managers, other solutions architects, infrastructure and security architects, application and infrastructure delivery leads to ensure that the execution of architecture plans are aligned with enterprise architecture strategy and roadmap
• Ensure that the actual implementation is aligned and has no critical deviations from the defined solution architecture
• Proactively identify, escalat*e and manage the technical risks and issues of the solution architecture
• Participate or lead the evaluation and selection of software and technology standards
• Document all solution architecture and analysis work through BDO’s standard solution architecture templates
• Lead the creation of the non‑functional requirements based on the assigned project
• Performs other related functions that may be assigned from time to time

Capability Building and Mentorship:

• Continually build knowledge of BDO platforms, products and services to aid better understanding of coming up with a solution architecture
• Understand technology trends and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business and operating models
• Share and cascade technical and business domain knowledge to the community of architects and other stakeholders

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Information Technology, similar courses/disciplines or with relevant work experience
• At least 8+ years in software, systems, or application development, with 3+ years in solution or solutionarchitecture role.
• Strong experience in banking, financial services, digital channels, or payments
• Must be willing to work onsite and be assigned in Ortigas.
