Job summary

Tilt, on the Cashalo team in the Philippines, seeks a Software QA Engineer to ensure only the best work reaches millions of users. You’ll develop and execute test plans and automation suites, shaping work in early stages and building our testing capabilities.

This hybrid role in Manila requires 2 days per week in the office. You’ll own end-to-end testing, automate test frameworks, and coordinate with stakeholders to deploy high-quality features at scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of expertise in Mobile and/or REST API manual testing.
• 3+ years of expertise in REST API automation in Python/JavaScript, etc.
• Experience working as a technical leader for QA
• Experience working within an Agile Continuous Delivery team
• Knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps in cloud platforms like Azure is preferable
• Knowledge of API Performance and Load Testing is a plus

Responsibilities

• Design End-to-End Test Strategies: collaborate with Product and Engineering to translate requirements into detailed test plans, identifying critical scenarios and crafting high-impact test cases.
• Engineer Robust Automation: design and maintain automated frameworks, integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
• Guarantee System Performance: perform manual, performance, and stress testing to ensure reliability under heavy load.
• Drive Defect Resolution: own the bug-tracking lifecycle and verify fixes with developers.
• Influence Code Quality: participate in code reviews and ensure new code meets high testing standards.
• Manage Environments & Processes: manage test environments and data, refining testing lifecycle with metrics.

The opportunity - Software QA Engineer, Cashalo

We're looking for a QA Engineer to join our Cashalo team in the Philippines. In this role, you’ll ensure only our best work reaches our customers. You’ll collaborate with a high-powered team to develop and execute test plans and automation suites for projects reaching millions of users. Your testing will ensure robustness and integrity for our customers and business. The automation you create will enhance our agility as we scale. You’ll take end-to-end ownership of new features and product lines—shaping work in early stages, building our testing capabilities, and coordinating with stakeholders for deployment to ensure we hit our goals.

This is a hybrid role, requiring you to work in our Manila office 2 days/week

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Engineer Robust Automation: You will be hands-on in the codebase, designing and maintaining automated frameworks and custom tools while integrating them directly into our CI/CD pipelines.
• Design End-to-End Test Strategies: You’ll collaborate with Product and Engineering to translate requirements into detailed test plans, identifying critical scenarios and personally crafting high-impact test cases.
• Guarantee System Performance: Beyond standard automation, you will execute manual, performance, and stress testing to ensure our systems remain reliable and performant under heavy load.
• Drive Defect Resolution: You’ll take ownership of the bug-tracking lifecycle, working directly with developers to troubleshoot, resolve, and verify fixes for complex technical issues.
• Influence Code Quality: You will actively participate in code reviews and feature development, ensuring all new code meets high standards for both quality and testability.
• Manage Environments & Processes: You’ll be responsible for the “boots-on-the-ground” management of test environments and data, while using metrics to constantly refine and modernize our testing lifecycle.

Why you’re a great fit

• 5+ years of expertise in Mobile and/or REST API manual testing
• 3+ years of expertise in REST API automation in Python/JavaScript, etc.
• Experience working as a technical leader for QA
