AGSI in the Philippines is seeking a Software Engineer who will serve as a system configurator responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining software solutions, translating user requirements into applications. You will participate in Agile teams, coordinate with PMs and BSA, contribute to design, coding, testing, and documentation, and help manage risks while upholding engineering standards.

• Ability to learn new business concepts and technology.
• Ability to understand data modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical) and database design concepts.
• Knowledge and experience using agile software development principles, process, and tools.
• Understanding of Agile development methods and its application to company technology needs
• Knowledge of software development techniques, processes, methods, and best practices.
• Knowledge with various programming languages used as well as low-code/no-code technologies, specifically Unqork, Federato, Outsystems, Appian, Mendix, or Salesforce Lightning Platform, is a plus/advantage.
• Knowledge and experience in Java development, is a plus.
• Experience within property and casualty insurance, policy administration & issuance domains, and/or underwriting rules is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability clearly speak and understand the English language.
• Excellent command of the English language, i.e. Ability to write and understand the written documents, email, and other forms of electronic communications.

Responsibilities

• Capture stakeholder requests and system specifications and translate them into engineering artifacts.
• Coordinate with software architects and engineers to ensure alignment with Enterprise Architecture principles.
• Within Agile teams, complete design, coding, code review and testing; keep the team apprised of status.
• Suggest effective approaches to achieve project objectives.
• Manage engineering risks by tracking issues and devising mitigation methods.
• Liaise with other areas to coordinate interdependencies and resolve issues.
• Support business units in resolving in-depth user questions following production support processes.
• Maintain knowledge of new technology and engineering standards, practices, and tools.
• Provide input to APM/DPM in creation of Product Roadmap and High Level Estimates.
• Collaborate with IT management to define and develop documentation & engineering artifact standards.
