Job summary

Amazon is seeking an experienced Software Development Manager to lead a world-class engineering team focused on delivering fast, affordable, and reliable fulfillment experiences. You will own features end-to-end, from architecture to deployment, while partnering with product and program management to align strategy with customer needs.

You will hire, mentor and coach engineers, scale teams, and drive agile practices across the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of engineering experience
• 3+ years of engineering team management experience
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams
• Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
• Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

• Hire and develop a world-class team of engineers
• Work with product owners, engineering leaders, and leadership across the company
• Develop strategy, architecture and implementation of critical features into our mobile platform
• Own software in all phases of the software life-cycle from architecture through deployment and release
