Job summary

CodeRound is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer III (Backend) to design and build highly scalable backend services. You will own critical systems, influence architecture, and mentor engineers while collaborating with product, data, frontend, and leadership in an early-stage fintech.

Qualifications

• Experience as Backend Software Development Engineer III or equivalent.
• Strong design and leadership experience.
• Proficiency in Node.js and Python.
• Experience building scalable backend services with REST APIs and microservices.
• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, Docker, Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and design of large-scale backend systems and platform services.
• Drive technical decision-making, design reviews and architecture discussions.
• Define engineering standards, best practices and coding guidelines across teams.
• Identify and resolve scalability, reliability and performance bottlenecks proactively.
• Own technical roadmaps for critical systems and services.
• Design, build, and maintain highly scalable, secure and fault-tolerant backend services.
• Optimise system performance, latency, throughput, and infrastructure efficiency.
• Lead implementation of mission-critical projects from conception to production.
• Mentor and guide SDE-I and SDE-II engineers through code reviews and technical coaching.
