Job summary

GECO Asia is seeking a Snowflake Infrastructure Engineer to join our Manila delivery team on a hybrid schedule. You will design, deploy, and optimize Snowflake environments, implement IaC with Terraform, and collaborate with data engineers and analysts to deliver scalable data solutions.

The role requires 3–5 years of Snowflake infrastructure experience, strong security and cost-control practices, and a proactive approach to performance tuning and governance.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience in Snowflake infrastructure/administration.
• Hands-on experience managing Snowflake environments.
• Experience with Snowflake security, RBAC, performance optimization, and resource management.
• Experience troubleshooting Snowflake platform and query-related issues.
• Strong understanding of Snowflake virtual warehouses, databases, schemas, storage, and account-level configurations.

Responsibilities

• Configure, deploy, and maintain Snowflake accounts, warehouses, databases, and schemas.
• Use Terraform to provision Snowflake resources following IaC best practices.
• Monitor warehouse and query performance, resource utilization, and overall platform health.
• Troubleshoot Snowflake issues and provide technical support to users.
• Implement RBAC, data sharing controls, and data governance policies.
• Implement security controls such as masking policies, row-level security, encryption, and access management.
• Manage Snowflake releases, account-level configurations, and new platform features.
• Optimize warehouse sizing, auto-suspend/resume settings, auto-scaling, and query design.
• Monitor and manage Snowflake credit usage and storage costs for optimization.
• Develop backup, failover, and disaster recovery strategies using Snowflake capabilities such as Time Travel and Fail-safe.
• Collaborate with data engineers to integrate Snowflake with external data sources, data lakes, and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Work closely with data engineers, data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver scalable data solutions.
• Ensure Snowflake environments follow established security, governance, performance, availability, and operational standards.

Job Responsibilities

• Configure, deploy, and maintain Snowflake accounts, virtual warehouses, databases, and schemas.
• Use Terraform to provision and manage Snowflake resources, including databases, warehouses, roles, and users, following Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices.
• Monitor warehouse and query performance, resource utilization, and overall platform health.
• Troubleshoot Snowflake issues and provide technical support to users, including query troubleshooting and performance tuning.
• Implement and manage Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), secure data sharing, and data governance policies.
• Implement security controls such as masking policies, row-level security, encryption, and access management.
• Manage Snowflake releases, account-level configurations, and new platform features.
