Job summary

Aboitiz Foods is seeking a shift-based Mechanical Engineer to maximize equipment reliability and safety at the Iligan flour mill. You will perform real-time mechanical troubleshooting, calibrations, and material unloading while complying with stringent quality standards.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, active LME licensure, and at least 1 year of industrial maintenance experience. You will work in a fast-paced milling environment with 5S, GMP, HACCP, and ISO guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).
• Registered/Licensed Mechanical Engineer (LME).
• Minimum of 1 year in industrial mechanical maintenance, manufacturing, or processing plant operations.
• Proficient in interpreting mechanical/electrical schematics and troubleshooting electro-pneumatic systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead immediate emergency repairs during shift disruptions to eliminate production downtime.
• Conduct routine vibration monitoring and thermal imaging; analyze data to catch abnormalities.
• Oversee mechanical performance during raw material unloading and ensure peak feed rates.
• Design and assist cost-effective improvement projects and coordinate with planners for spare parts.
• Maintain engineering records and adhere to 5S, GMP, HACCP, Halal, and ISO food safety policies.

Role Overview

Ensure maximum equipment reliability, safety, and operational efficiency during shift operations at our Iligan flour mill. You will execute real-time mechanical troubleshooting, condition-based monitoring, equipment calibrations, and raw material unloading operations while adhering to strict quality and food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Troubleshooting & Maintenance:Lead immediate emergency repairs during shift disruptions to eliminate production downtime. Perform equipment calibrations and root-cause analyses for chronic mechanical faults.

Condition-Based Monitoring:Conduct routine vibration monitoring and thermal imaging. Analyze operational performance data to catch potential abnormalities before failures occur.

Shift Operations & Unloading:Oversee mechanical performance during raw material unloading, ensuring equipment operates at peak feed rates without exceeding time limits.

Projects & Materials:Design cost-effective improvement projects, assist with mechanical installations, and coordinate with planners to ensure necessary spare parts are available.

Safety & Compliance:Maintain engineering records and strictly adhere to5S, GMP, HACCP, Halal, and ISOfood safety and quality policies.

Proficient in interpreting mechanical/electrical schematics and troubleshooting electro-pneumatic systems.

Experience with vibration analysis, thermal imaging, and instrument calibration.

Strong communication skills and basic computer literacy for shift reporting.

Work Conditions:Willing to work shift schedules, handle night calls for emergencies, and work in an active flour mill environment (exposure to dust, noise, and mechanical hazards; PPE provided).
