Job summary

Aboitiz Foods is seeking a Feed Mill Engineer 2 to ensure safe, efficient operation of the feed mill across raw material elevation, batching, pelleting, and bagging. The role requires coordinating with the Feed Mill Supervisor, Material Planner, and NITR personnel.

You will monitor batching and pelleting processes, maintain equipment, perform quality checks on pellet attributes, and ensure compliance with food safety and ISO/HACCP standards while entering accurate SAP data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Chemical, or Agricultural) or related technical field.
• 2–4 years of progressive experience in feed mill operations, automated manufacturing, or heavy industrial processing plants.

Responsibilities

• Operate raw material elevation and inventory systems to prevent overflow and intermixing.
• Coordinate with the Feed Mill Supervisor and Material Planner to confirm production schedules and material availability.
• Oversee batching: weigh, grinding, mixing, and conveying to pelleting bins; monitor performance.
• Monitor pelleting parameters and ensure quality attributes (durability, color, size, nutrition).
• Maintain SAP postings for bulk feed goods and resource usage; ensure accurate data logging.
• Strictly comply with Quality, Halal, Health, and Food Safety policies; support ISO/HACCP initiatives.

Job Description

The Feed Mill Engineer 2 is responsible for ensuring the efficient, safe, and economical operation of the Feed Mill Plant. This role oversees the entire production lifecycle, including Raw Material Elevation, Batching, Pelleting, and Bagging Operation to produce high-quality feeds. The successful candidate will drive the plant’s quality and quantity objectives while strictly adhering to food safety, operational compliance, and enterprise system tracking.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Raw Material Elevation

• Operate the computerized receiving system and allocate designated silos/bins for incoming materials.
• Monitor conveying systems to prevent raw material overflowing, intermixing, and clogging using inventory reports.

2. Batching Operation

• Coordinate with the Feed Mill Supervisor and Material Planner to confirm production schedules and raw material availability.
• Review formulations and adjust parameters in coordination with NITR personnel.
• Partner with the Micro Technician to ensure precise batching sequences.
• Operate computerized batching systems for raw material weighing, grinding, mixing, and conveying to pelleting bins.
• Monitor system metrics to maximize batching efficiency, ensure accurate liquid additions, and provide performance feedback to maintenance teams.

3. Pelleting Operation & Equipment Monitoring

• Maintain and monitor all pelleting parameters, ensuring operations align with formulation standards.
• Coordinate with maintenance for a steady supply of high-quality steam and optimal air pressure.
• Operate the computerized pelleting system following exact operational sequences.
• Conduct regular quality checks to ensure feeds meet company standard attributes (pellet durability, shade/color, size, and nutritional value).
• Mash Bins: Confirm cleanliness and ensure no meal hang-ups before product changeovers.
• Pellet Mill: Monitor feeder variable frequency drives, clear temperature probes/plug sensors, maintain steady ampere readings, and adjust knives/cutters and rollers.
• Crumbler & Tender Blender: Make product-specific adjustments and manage precise oilinjections.
• Align with the Bagging section regarding feed types, bagging sequences, and bin assignments.
• Verify the accuracy of bagging production reports before submitting them to the supervisor.

5. SAP Transactions & Data Logging

• Complete shift-accurate SAP postings for bulk feed goods received.
• Record utility and resource consumption (Electricity, Fuel, Labor, and Machine Time) against active process orders.
• Execute SAP postings for raw materials consumed, material transfers, and specific quality or inventory movements.

6. Food Safety, Compliance & Safety

• Strictly comply with company Quality, Halal, Health, and Food Safety policies and regulations.
• Proactively report issues impacting Halal compliance, food safety, or quality management systems to designated authorities.
• Actively support ISO/HACCP initiatives, including records control, system writing, and continuous improvement processes.
• Participate in company-wide programs covering sustainability, safety and security, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and risk management.
