Job description

The Senior WordPress Designer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining WordPress websites and web applications. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet client requirements while adhering to industry best practices and ThinkBIT’s project lifecycle. This is a senior-level role; you’re expected to lead design decisions, mentor junior team members, and work with minimal supervision.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites in accordance with industry best practices and ThinkBIT standards.
• Design and customize responsive WordPress themes and user interfaces.
• Ensure websites are optimized for performance, responsiveness, and usability.
• Stay current with WordPress ecosystem updates, Gutenberg, and emerging UI/UX trends.
• Utilize version control systems and tools such as Git and SourceTree.
• Participate in project planning, effort estimation, and technical discussions.
• Deliver assigned projects and tasks within agreed timelines and quality standards.
• Monitor and communicate project progress, risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Assist the relevant managers in improving technical documentation and cross-functional processes.
• Support the continuous improvement of developers through the maintenance and enhancement of learning paths.
• Conduct performance management activities, including: KPI Reviews, Coaching Sessions, and Development Feedback Discussions.
• Provide technical guidance and support to developers through: Weekly project consultation meetings, Code reviews, and Technical mentoring.
• Contribute as a hands-on developer while supporting team members in project delivery.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be willing to report to the office at least once a week.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least five (5) years of professional experience in WordPress development and web design.
• Knowledgeable in other CMS platforms such as Drupal, Shopify, and Elementor.
• Strong proficiency in: WordPress Development HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, JSON, as well as Git, SourceTree, and other version control tools.
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs and third-party services.
