Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop applications. You will work with Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML, and occasionally C++ to build high-quality software for Speechify’s desktop ecosystem.

You will collaborate with product designers, QA, and cross-functional teams to shape the Windows platform roadmap, tackle complex bugs, and optimize performance and accessibility for all users.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Windows desktop app development with Windows App SDK/WinUI and C#/XAML.
• Experience with native Windows code (C++, Win32/WinRT/COM) is preferred.
• Knowledge of managed/unmanaged interop between .NET and native code.
• Track record shipping production desktop apps with emphasis on reliability and performance.
• Strong accessibility experience with Windows APIs.
• Solid fundamentals: OOP, design patterns, data structures, memory management, multi-threading.
• Experience leading design, mentoring engineers, and making architecture decisions.
• Excellent communication and a user-centric mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop apps.
• Define code architecture, performance targets, and cross-version compatibility.
• Drive accessibility efforts and ensure keyboard navigation, screen reader support, and focus management.
• Collaborate with product designers, QA, and stakeholders to shape feature roadmaps.
• Identify and resolve complex bugs and performance bottlenecks, proposing robust solutions.
