Job summary

Optum is seeking a seasoned IT Infrastructure Administrator to manage VMware and Windows Server environments in a Philippine-based team. You will handle ESXi/vCenter, NSX, SRM, vSAN, and HCX, while maintaining AD, DNS, DHCP, and SQL Always On.

The role involves incident response, automation, and cloud integration across Azure, AWS, and GCP. You will collaborate with security, network, and cloud teams to deliver reliable, compliant infrastructure and contribute to continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in Windows Server and infrastructure administration.
• Experience administering enterprise VMware vSphere environments.
• Experience with Cisco UCS infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support VMware ESXi, vCenter, VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), vROps, and related VMware technologies.
• Perform VM provisioning, migration, optimization, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management.
• Manage VMware NSX environments and virtual networking components.
• Support VMware HCX migrations and workload mobility initiatives.
• Configure and maintain VMware SRM and Disaster Recovery plans.
• Support vSAN, VxRail, VMware Cloud Foundation, and hyper-converged solutions.
• Administer Microsoft Windows Server 2016 and newer versions.
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and authentication services.
• Support Microsoft Failover Clustering and SQL Always On environments.
• Perform server patching, upgrades, security hardening, and compliance activities.
• Provide Level 3 support for enterprise VMware and Windows environments.
• Participate in major incident war rooms and critical outage resolution.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, network, security, and cloud teams to resolve complex technical issues.
• Support change management, maintenance activities, and project implementations.
• Support hybrid cloud environments across Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• Assist in cloud migration, modernization, and infrastructure optimization initiatives.
• Integrate on-premise VMware platforms with cloud-based services where appropriate.
• Develop and maintain PowerShell and Python scripts for operational automation.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to improve troubleshooting, documentation, reporting, and operational efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to enhance service reliability through automation and process improvements.
• Support HPE ProLiant and Dell PowerEdge server platforms.
• Coordinate with vendors for hardware replacements and maintenance activities.
• Administer storage connectivity including iSCSI, SAN, RAID, and related technologies.
• Participate in infrastructure refresh, deployment, migration, and modernization projects.

• Identify opportunities to enhance service reliability through automation and process improvements.

Hardware & Data Center Operations

• Support HPE ProLiant and Dell PowerEdge server platforms.
