Job summary

Maya in Metro Manila is seeking a senior underwriting leader to head corporate loan underwriting, including applications, renewals and amendments within your authority. You will guide a team of underwriters, ensure credit decisions follow internal policies, risk frameworks and BSP regulations, and work with Business Units, Legal, Compliance and Collections on structure and exceptions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in corporate credit underwriting or credit risk management.
• Strong skills in financial analysis, cash flow evaluation, and industry risk assessment.
• Familiarity with BSP regulations, credit governance, and corporate lending frameworks.
• Experience leading or mentoring underwriters or analysts.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead underwriting for corporate loan applications, renewals, and amendments within your authority.
• Ensure credit decisions follow internal policies, risk frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage and develop a team of underwriters; provide guidance on complex credit cases.
• Work closely with Business Units, Credit Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Collections on deal structuring and exception handling.
• Monitor portfolio quality, turnaround time, and process performance; drive improvements in systems and workflows.
• Support the Credit Operations Head in achieving underwriting and portfolio objectives.
