Job summary

Cresco Australia is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to strengthen the residential discipline. This senior design role emphasizes checking and independent review, with shared QA responsibilities and design deliverables alongside Australian standards.

For the right person there is a defined path to a Technical Lead appointment within the residential structural discipline, with remote engagement from the Philippines and a competitive monthly salary.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Seven or more years' experience as a structural engineer, including residential work.
Experience checking and reviewing the design work of other engineers or drafters.
Working knowledge of the residential structural Australian Standards (AS 1684, AS 2870, AS 1170, AS 4100, AS 3600).
Experience with structural analysis software such as Space Gass, IDEA StatiCa, Structural Toolkit or SkyCiv.
Strong written and verbal English for design documentation and client correspondence.
A reliable home working environment and internet connection.

Responsibilities

Carry out residential structural design and analysis to the relevant Australian Standards (AS 1684, AS 2870, AS 1170, AS 4100, AS 3600).
Produce and check structural designs, drawings and calculations for residential projects.
Run the QA review gate on deliverables per the QA framework.
Contribute to root-cause reviews of rework and improve first-pass approval rates.
Support and mentor less experienced engineers and drafters.
