Job summary

Coforge is seeking a Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator to join our Database Services team. The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of hands-on experience managing SQL Server environments across on-premises and Azure, with a focus on performance tuning, backups, security, and DR planning.

The role requires strong expertise in SQL Server 2016–2025, Always On, Azure SQL, monitoring, and automation. You will work with global teams and participate in after-hours support as needed.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on SQL Server DBA experience.
• Strong experience with on-premises and Azure SQL environments.
• Proven ability to implement high-availability and disaster recovery.
• Solid skills in security, backups, and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Administer SQL Server 2016–2025 in on-prem and Azure.
• Support Always On, log shipping, replication, and DR.
• Monitor health, capacity, CPU, memory, and long-running queries.
• Tune queries using execution plans, DMVs, and Extended Events.
• Automate admin tasks with PowerShell and Azure tooling.
• Create runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge-transfer materials.
• Collaborate with global teams and participate in after-hours support.
