Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to design and develop high-throughput SIP microservices across multi-site deployments. You will implement protocol translation and advanced concurrency models in Go, enabling fast internal SIP-over-ZeroMQ traffic.

The role requires deep distributed systems knowledge, experience with gRPC and RabbitMQ, and strong observability using OpenTelemetry. Collaboration with Networks/Infra teams is essential to ensure resilience and security.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design high-throughput SIP microservices in Go for multi-site deployments.

Department Overview

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our core engineering team to design and develop a high-throughput, mission-critical active-active SIP based microservices across multi-site deployments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect high-throughput, stateless SIP microservices using Go, achieving strict performance targets such as 5,000+ TPS and sub-15ms latency budgets.
• Implement complex protocol translation layers to convert inbound SIP-over-TCP/TLS traffic from load balancers into high-speed SIP-over-ZeroMQ traffic for internal stateless services.
• Engineer advanced concurrency models utilizing ZeroMQ Router/Dealer socket pooling and internal thread-bridging patterns to prevent mutex bottlenecks and ensure thread-safe message passing under heavy load.
• Integrate distributed state and security mechanisms, including automated cryptographic key rotation using discovery tools for leader election and secured vaults for private key storage.
• Enforce surge protection and reliability by building multi-layered throttling, distributed batch schedulers, and exponential backoff handling
• Partner with Network and Infrastructure teams to define advanced load balancer routing frameworks, DNS SRV query logic, and implement distributed tracing (OpenTelemetry) for end-to-end observability.

Basic Requirements

• Knowledge of SIP/VOIP & related telecom protocols.
• Deep hands-on experience in Golang (preferred) and proficiency in c++/c
• Strong computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, multi-threading, concurrency control, stateless proxies and Finite State Machines (FSM).
• Hands-on expertise with networking and messaging protocols including gRPC and RabbitMQ.
• Strong background with distributed databases like Apache Ignite and GridGain.
• Practical knowledge of persistence and caching solutions such as PostgreSQL, Redis, and ElasticSearch.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and explaining complex ideas.
• Industry Experience - 8+ years
