Maya is seeking a backend-focused software engineer with strong Java/Spring Boot experience to design, implement, and operate production systems. You will own medium-to-large projects end-to-end, from requirements to deployment and production support, collaborating with product owners, SRE, and engineers.

The role emphasizes cloud-native development on AWS, microservices, and distributed systems, with a strong problem-solving mindset and the ability to work with legacy as well as new systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in CS/IT/CE or equivalent.
• 5-7+ years of software development experience.
• Solid experience in Java and OOP design.
• Spring Boot framework experience.
• Experience building RESTful APIs.
• Experience with AWS services and cloud apps.
• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, and production troubleshooting.
• Experience with Microservices is a plus.
• Experience with distributed systems is a plus.
• Experience with Kubernetes or container deployments is a plus.

• Backend-focused software engineer with strong experience in designing, implementing, and operating software systems in production.
• Strong problem-solving and solution-building skills, with the ability to break down complex requirements into practical technical solutions that can be delivered end to end.
• Strong experience in Java, specifically using the Spring Boot framework.
• Familiarity with AWS services and cloud-native application development.
• 5-7+ years of software development experience, or equivalent demonstrated capability in independently delivering production-grade backend systems.
• Has a collaborative and solution-first attitude towards solving problems.
• Comfortable working with both new and legacy systems.
