Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field.
• 5-8 years of cybersecurity experience with 2-3 years in a SOC and 1-2 years in leadership.
• Hands-on with SIEM, incident response; experience in SOC/MSSP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day SOC operations with 24/7 coverage.
• Lead investigations, triage, and incident resolution with analysts and teams.
• Tune and maintain SIEM to improve detection and reduce false positives.
• Mentor SOC analysts and engineers, provide direction and feedback.
• Incorporate threat intel to improve detection rules and response.
• Develop SOPs, playbooks, and SOC processes for efficiency.
• Generate reports on incidents, SIEM performance, and SOC metrics.
• Collaborate with IT, cloud security, and compliance teams.
• Promote automation and scripting to speed responses.
• Serve as escalation point for complex incidents and high-severity events.
• Provide training sessions to upskill the team and drive certifications.
