Job summary

TOA Global is seeking a Senior SMSF Accountant in a high-impact leadership role. You will lead the preparation and review of SMSF financial statements and tax filings, ensure audit-ready documentation, and mentor junior SMSF accountants.

This position works with Australian partners and involves navigating SIS Act and ATO requirements. You will supervise workflows, provide technical guidance, and liaise with auditors to finalize compliance reviews while managing complex fund dynamics and pension

As a Senior SMSF Accountant, you are the technical vanguard of the Self-Managed Superannuation Fund sector. This is a high-impact leadership role where your expertise in the SIS Act and ATO regulations doesn't just ensure compliance-it protects retirement legacies. You will act as the bridge between complex legislation and operational excellence, mentoring the next generation of SMSF specialists while maintaining elite standards for our Australian partners.

Your Impact

Guardian of Technical Excellence: Lead the preparation and high-level review of SMSF financial statements, tax returns, and compliance documentation. Ensure that every file-regardless of portfolio complexity-is "audit-ready" and aligned with current legislation.

Strategic Mentor & Leader: Take ownership of the development of intermediate SMSF accountants. Supervise workflows, provide technical guidance, and foster a culture of precision and continuous learning.

Audit & Liaison Specialist: Act as the primary point of contact for auditors to finalize compliance reviews. Provide high-level technical support to Australian client managers, translating regulatory shifts into actionable insights.

Master of Complex Fund Dynamics: Navigate sophisticated aspects of SMSF accounting, including intricate pension commencements, varied contribution types, and diverse investment portfolios with total integrity.

What You Bring

The Experience: A minimum of 5+ years of dedicated SMSF accounting experience within an Australian accounting firm. You have a proven track record of managing and reviewing complex fund files from start to finish.

Technical Mastery: In-depth, expert-level knowledge of SMSF legislation, the SIS Act, and current ATO requirements.

The Toolkit: Advanced proficiency in industry-leading SMSF administration software, specifically Class Super or BGL (Simple Fund 360).

Leadership Prowess: Strong review and supervisory skills with the ability to provide constructive feedback. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to handle high-pressure deadlines with ease.
