You will collaborate with builders, clients, and project managers to keep projects on budget and on schedule through rigorous cost control and procurement management.   • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in commercial construction, cost control, and planning.
  • Skills: Knowledge of contracts (FIDIC, JCT, NEC); proficiency in estimating/planning software; strong negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare estimates: Build detailed cost plans, bills of quantities, and tender packages.
  • Control budgets: Track monthly cash flow, forecast expenses, and manage financial risks.
  • Handle contracts: Negotiate terms with suppliers, award work to subcontractors, and manage procurement.
  • Assess value: Review contractor payment claims, value completed work, and settle final accounts.
  • Manage variations: Price and negotiate change orders or project claims.
  • Build timelines: Create, update, and manage master project schedules and milestones.
  • Monitor progress: Compare actual site progress against planned timelines to spot delays early.
  • Coordinate resources: Align material deliveries, labor availability, and subcontractor work with the schedule.
  • Mitigate delays: Adjust plans and offer recovery options when bottlenecks happen.
  • Report to management: Deliver budget and progress reports to clients and stakeholders.
  • Mentor team: Guide and train junior quantity surveyors and planners.

A Senior Quantity Surveyor and Planner manages construction costs, contracts, and project timelines from start to finish.

Job Summary

You will lead cost estimation, financial tracking, and work schedules. You ensure projects stay on budget and finish on time by working closely with builders, clients, and project managers.

Key Responsibilities
Cost Management & Quantity Surveying
  • Prepare estimates: Build detailed cost plans, bills of quantities, and tender packages.
  • Control budgets: Track monthly cash flow, forecast expenses, and manage financial risks.
  • Handle contracts: Negotiate terms with suppliers, award work to subcontractors, and manage procurement.
