Job summary

Hitachi Energy India Limited is seeking a Bachelor’s degree holder in electrical engineering with 3-7 years of experience in primary design/engineering of substations, preferably GIS. Knowledge of IEC/IEEE/IS standards and hands-on use of ProE/CREO, AutoCAD-3D, and SAP MM are required.

Proficiency in English is essential for this role. The position involves creating base and detail designs, BOMs, 3D GIS modelling, and technical documentation, with emphasis on on-time delivery and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 3-7 years of experience in primary design/engineering of substations, preferably GIS.
• Knowledge on IEC/IEEE/IS standards.
• Hands on experience in 3D tools like ProE / CREO, AUTOCAD-3D, MS Office.
• Hands on experience of SAP system (MM module).
• GIS Project execution process knowledge and MV/HV substations design knowledge.
• Proficiency in spoken & written English.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Technical Kick off handover meetings with Project Manager / Tendering.
• Read customer specifications and compliance reports.
• Define milestone deliverables (Base Design / BOM / Detail Design).
• Prepare Electrical and Gas SLD, Plan and Section drawings.
• Prepare 3D modelling of high voltage GIS for substation configurations.
• Prepare Guaranteed technical particulars of GIS and HV equipment for customer submission.
• Deliver detail design tasks (Rating plates / Cable / Earthing / Civil requirements / As Built).
• Execute DtV process during the Base design phase.
• Contribute to margin improvement of the project.
• Ensure on-time delivery per milestone database.
• Prepare BOMs and release in SAP per Milestone.
• Prepare technical documents for procurement of Current transformers and voltage transformers.
• Participate in customer meetings and project reviews.
• Support troubleshooting for factory and onsite issues; provide disposition actions.
• Perform root-cause analysis for quality issues.
