Job summary

ECG Engineering Pty Ltd in Manila seeks a Senior Power Systems Engineer to design and analyse HV power networks for mining and renewables. You will run network analyses, build models, and deliver final design documentation to enhance reliability and efficiency.

We expect a degree in Electrical Engineering with power systems specialization and HV experience, including protection coordination. On-site work in Manila is required, with strong collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering with specialisation in power systems or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience in high voltage power systems analysis, design and engineering.
  • Proficiency in power systems modelling software, particularly DigSilent PowerFactory and ETAP.
  • Demonstrated capability in conducting network analysis and performance studies for complex power systems.
  • Experience in HV substation and powerline design, including protection coordination and equipment selection.
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex power system challenges.
  • Excellent analytical thinking ability to interpret data and develop innovative engineering solutions.
  • Experience in the mining industry or similar heavy industrial power systems environments is highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy integration and its impact on power system stability and performance.
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with clients, stakeholders and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
  • Self-motivated professional who thrives in collaborative engineering environments.
  • Must be willing to work on-site in Manila office.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct power systems analysis and modelling using DigSilent, PowerFactory, and ETAP software.
  • Design and analyse HV substations, powerlines and electrical distribution networks.
  • Perform network analysis, load flow studies and protection coordination studies.
  • Develop power systems solutions for mining industry clients and renewable energy projects.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications and design documentation for power systems projects.
  • Coordinate with project teams and clients to deliver power systems engineering outcomes.
  • Assess renewable energy integration requirements and grid connection studies.
  • Provide technical expertise in power quality analysis and system performance optimisation.
