We are seeking an experienced Senior Power BI Developer to design, develop, and optimize enterprise-grade reporting and analytics solutions supporting business decision‑making across global operations.
This is a hands‑on technical leadership role for a Power BI specialist who can combine strong development expertise with the ability to mentor developers, guide technical solutions, and establish best practices. You will partner with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analytics teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high‑performing solutions using Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.
You will play a key role in shaping Power BI solutions from requirements gathering through deployment, while providing technical direction to the development team. The role offers an opportunity to work with modern data platforms and enterprise‑scale analytics environments.
Design, develop, and deploy enterprise‑grade Power BI dashboards and reports aligned with business KPIs, reporting standards, and user requirements.
Build, optimize, and maintain semantic models using Power BI Desktop and Microsoft Fabric‑enabled datasets.
Develop advanced DAX measures, calculated columns, KPIs, hierarchies, and reusable business logic.
Perform data transformation and preparation using Power Query (M).
Connect and model data from enterprise sources, including:
Microsoft Fabric OneLake
Fabric Lakehouse
Fabric Warehouse
Fabric Semantic Models
Apply appropriate Power BI connectivity modes, including Direct Lake, Import, and DirectQuery.
Optimize report performance, semantic models, data refresh strategies, and Power BI/Fabric capacity utilization.
Implement Row‑Level Security (RLS) and manage Power BI workspaces, applications, permissions, and deployment processes.
Validate data accuracy and reconcile reporting outputs against upstream data sources.
Partner with business users, data engineers, and technical teams to gather requirements, evaluate solutions, and demonstrate completed deliverables.
Provide technical leadership to the Power BI development team through mentoring, code and solution reviews, knowledge sharing, and best‑practice guidance.
Help establish consistent development standards and ensure high‑quality, scalable delivery across Power BI initiatives.
Strong hands‑on experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
Advanced knowledge of DAX, semantic modeling, Star Schema design, and Power BI performance optimization.
Strong SQL skills for data analysis, validation, troubleshooting, and query optimization.
Solid experience with Power Query (M) for data preparation and transformation.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, and Dataflows Gen2.
Experience accessing and modeling data from Azure Data Lake within Power BI.
Proven experience developing enterprise dashboards and reporting solutions from requirements gathering through deployment.
Experience mentoring, coaching, supervising, or providing technical leadership to Power BI developers.
Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to remain hands‑on technically while providing direction and support to other developers.
Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Fabric workloads, including Lakehouse, Warehouse, Pipelines, and Semantic Models.
Understanding of Direct Lake architecture and implementation best practices.
Experience with Power BI Premium, Fabric Capacity, and Deployment Pipelines.
Exposure to Azure Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake, or other modern cloud data platforms.
Familiarity with data governance, data lineage, and security concepts within Microsoft Fabric.
Experience supporting analytics solutions in regulated industries such as Manufacturing, Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, or Medical Technology.
Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.
Microsoft Power BI Certification (PL‑300) and/or Microsoft Fabric certifications is highly preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
6-10 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, or Data Visualization, including at least 5 years of hands‑on Power BI development.
Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership, mentoring, or supervision within Power BI or BI development teams.
Proven ability to lead the technical direction of Power BI initiatives while remaining actively involved in solution design and development.
