Job summary

Applaudo seeks a senior PeopleSoft HCM Consultant to optimize enterprise HCM processes and drive automation using native PeopleSoft capabilities. You will analyze current HR processes, design automation strategies, and produce governance-grade documentation for technical reviews.

Ideal candidates bring hands-on PeopleTools expertise, Payroll/Health & Welfare/Benefits knowledge, and strong consulting skills to collaborate with business and technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience as a PeopleSoft HCM Consultant with hands-on tech and functional expertise.
• Proven experience with PeopleSoft HCM implementations in complex enterprises.
• Strong knowledge of Payroll, Health & Welfare, and Benefits in PeopleSoft.
• Experience designing automation within PeopleSoft environments and defining automation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze existing PeopleSoft HCM business processes.
• Identify automation strategies using native PeopleSoft capabilities.
• Define automation requirements, approaches, dependencies, and complexity for HCM processes.
• Develop detailed automation plans with scope, timelines, tools, and assumptions.
• Create clear technical documentation to support reviews and decisions.
• Support planning and prioritization of automation initiatives.
• Design and implement PeopleSoft configurations and custom solutions as progress occurs.
• Support testing, troubleshooting, defect resolution, and technical validation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and provide recommendations.

Job description

You are a senior-level PeopleSoft HCM Consultant with strong technical and functional expertise, capable of analyzing complex enterprise environments and identifying opportunities to optimize and automate HCM processes.

You bring a consultative and advisory mindset, combining deep PeopleSoft knowledge with strong analytical and communication skills. You are comfortable working independently, navigating ambiguity, documenting technical solutions, and presenting recommendations to technical and business stakeholders.

You Bring to Applaudo the Following Competencies:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field is desired, or equivalent professional experience.
• Senior-level experience as a PeopleSoft HCM Consultant with strong hands-on technical and functional expertise.
• Proven experience working with PeopleSoft HCM implementations in complex enterprise environments.
• Strong functional knowledge of PeopleSoft Payroll, Health & Welfare, and Benefits modules.
• Strong hands-on experience with PeopleTools.
• Proven experience designing and implementing automation within PeopleSoft environments.
• Ability to assess existing PeopleSoft business processes and identify automation opportunities using native PeopleSoft capabilities.
• Experience defining automation requirements and estimating process complexity and implementation effort.
• Strong technical documentation skills, including automation plans, process approaches, timelines, and tooling recommendations.
• Experience preparing technical documentation for formal IT governance or technical review processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently in complex and ambiguous environments.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to present and defend technical recommendations.
• Experience working in consulting, advisory, or client-facing environments.

Nice to Have:

• PeopleSoft HCM and/or PeopleTools certification.
• Experience using AI or Generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, Claude, or similar tools for technical analysis, documentation, process optimization, or automation.

You Will Be Accountable for the Following Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze existing PeopleSoft HCM business processes.
• Identify and recommend automation strategies using native PeopleSoft functionality.
• Define automation requirements, approaches, dependencies, and complexity for HCM processes.
• Develop detailed automation plans covering scope, approach, timelines, tools, assumptions, and implementation considerations.
• Create clear and structured technical documentation to support review and decision-making processes.
• Establish repeatable documentation and automation planning approaches based on stakeholder feedback.
• Support the planning and prioritization of automation initiatives.
• Design and implement PeopleSoft configurations and custom solutions as implementation activities progress.
• Support testing, troubleshooting, defect resolution, and technical validation.
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to understand requirements and provide recommendations.
