Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Senior Developer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Oracle Database. You will craft complex Oracle SQL queries, build REST APIs, and modernize legacy systems while collaborating with Product Owners, QA, and analysts in an Agile setting.

You will contribute to code reviews, CI/CD, and technical documentation, ensuring reliability and performance across applications and data layers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of software development experience with hands-on delivery across Java and Oracle Database.
• Strong Oracle SQL skills with complex queries, joins, subqueries, aggregations, and data-intensive operations.
• Solid experience developing Java applications and REST APIs using Spring Boot, including business logic and integration with Oracle Database.
• Strong understanding of Oracle Database, relational data models, and application-to-database integrations.
• Experience diagnosing issues, debugging production problems, and implementing reliable solutions across layers.
• Experience consuming and producing REST APIs, including OAuth2/JWT and third-party integrations.
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle, source control, testing, deployment, and Agile delivery.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and branching strategies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Oracle Database, and modern web technologies.
• Write, analyze, and optimize complex Oracle SQL queries to support functionality, data processing, and performance.
• Support and modernize legacy applications by analyzing code and architecture for maintainability and performance.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues across application, database, API, and integration layers.
• Translate business requirements into scalable, reliable software solutions.
• Develop and maintain Java/Spring Boot REST APIs and services connected to Oracle Database.
• Build web components using JavaScript/HTML and potentially React where applicable.
• Support integrations with enterprise platforms, including authentication/SSO and other systems.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and CI/CD practices.
• Create technical documentation and API specs.
