Job summary

TP ICAP is seeking a Senior Oracle DBA/Apps DBA to own stability, performance, and lifecycle management of core Oracle E-Business Suite and middleware environments. You will participate in major incidents, perform RCAs, and collaborate on migrations in a fast-paced financial services setting.

Responsibilities include 24/7 support across global environments, on-call rotation, and implementing best practices in a hybrid onsite/remote setup.

Qualifications

  • Senior-level experience: 7+ years as Oracle DBA or Oracle Apps DBA, preferably in large-scale environments.
  • Expertise with Oracle Databases (19c/23ai), patching, cloning, backups (RMAN), and performance tuning.
  • Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) backend DB administration and Oracle Middleware/WebLogic 12c.
  • Strong HA/Clustering knowledge (RAC, AlwaysOn) and enterprise monitoring (OEM/Spotlight/Grafana).
  • Automation of DBA tasks using Unix/Linux scripting, PowerShell, or Ansible; ITIL familiarity.

  • Lead major incidents, perform RCA, and coordinate migrations with project teams.
  • Deliver operational support and proactive tuning for performance and capacity.
  • Develop and document DR procedures; review and improve DBA processes and best practices.
  • Collaborate with global teams and the functional manager to ensure smooth production transitions.

Job description

This is a dedicated 24/7 Global Infrastructure & Database Administration (DBA) support role focused on backend administration, upgrades, patching, and major incident resolution for Oracle Database, E-Business Suite (EBS), and WebLogic environments. This is NOT a PL/SQL coding, functional configuration, or software development role.

The Role & Your Impact

As part of our Global DBA Team, you will own the stability, performance, and infrastructure lifecycle of TP ICAP’s core Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) and middleware environments. You will represent the DBA team during major incidents, drive root-cause analysis (RCA), and collaborate on migrations and infrastructure automation within a fast-paced financial services setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate as part of a global database support team, providing comprehensive shift coverage to support out database environment worldwide, including a mix of on-site and remote work to ensure 24/7 coverage, adhere to agile working policies.
  • Represent the Global DBA team during major incident calls, taking ownership of problem resolution and ensuring timely completion of related tasks.
  • Deliver operational support for database issues arising from incidents or changes.
  • Provide solutions and root cause analysis for system performance issues and failures.
  • Collaborate on projects, working closely with project teams to ensure smooth transitions of new databases and initiatives into the Production environment.
  • Work closely with the functional manager and other team members to ensure cohesive operations.
  • Review and recommend improvements to enhance the effectiveness of the database infrastructure.
  • Establish and maintain best practices, processes, and procedures to support business operations.
  • Perform monitoring, testing, and capacity planning for databases.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including disaster recovery (DR) procedures.
  • Drive innovation by continually seeking improvements to infrastructure for a faster and more efficient environment.
  • Support broader IT initiatives, including business continuity and security efforts.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation
Required Skills & Experience
  • Senior-Level Experience: Minimum 7+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA or Oracle Apps DBA, preferably within Financial Services, Capital Markets, or large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Core Oracle DBA: Strong expertise in managing Oracle Databases (19c / 23ai), including patching, cloning, backups (RMAN), and performance tuning.
  • Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS): Proven experience providing backend infrastructure and database administration support for Oracle EBS environments.
  • Oracle Middleware / WebLogic: Solid understanding and hands‑on administration of Oracle Middleware and WebLogic 12c (Note: Candidates with a strong WebLogic/Middleware background are welcome, provided you have supported Oracle Databases as an administrator, not a developer).
  • High Availability & Clustering: Strong practical knowledge of database clustering and replication technologies, specifically Oracle RAC and/or SQL Server AlwaysOn.
  • Enterprise Monitoring: Proficiency with monitoring tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Spotlight, or Grafana.
  • OS & Scripting: Strong working knowledge of Red Hat Linux and Windows Server environments, with demonstrated ability to automate DBA tasks using Unix Shell Scripting, PowerShell, or Ansible.
  • Incident Management & SLAs: Solid understanding of ITIL standards; comfortable working in high‑pressure environments, managing outages, and taking ownership of Major Incidents.
  • Multi‑Platform DB Experience: Hands‑on success administering MS SQL Server (2019/2022), MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL.
  • Cloud & DevOps: Exposure to migrating databases to cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and familiarity with modern DevOps principles.
  • Certifications: ITIL certification, Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Microsoft Certified, or AWS Solutions Architect certifications are highly valued.

  • Onboarding: First month fully onsite; then hybrid 3 days onsite per week
