Job summary

Avaloq is expanding its global footprint and seeks an Observability Engineer to manage our observability stack across cloud environments. The role focuses on end-to-end monitoring, metrics collection, logging, and tracing, partnered with IaC using Terraform, and collaboration with DevOps and development teams.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in observability, strong cloud knowledge (AWS/Azure/GCP), and hands-on experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and PagerDuty in containerized setups with

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in observability for on-prem and cloud infrastructure.
• Terraform, Python (Phyton in source) and similar IaC tools.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, OCI or GCP and related observability features.
• Observability tools: Prometheus, Alert Manager, Grafana, Loki, PagerDuty and similar.
• Best practices: monitoring, logging, and tracing in cloud-native environments.
• Kubernetes and related container platforms.
• CI/CD & automation: Jenkins and GitLab/GitHub.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a robust observability stack with logging, metrics, monitoring, alerting, and tracing.
• Connect tools with cloud services and infrastructure for comprehensive visibility.
• Automate provisioning and deployment of observability tools using Terraform.
• Define organization-wide monitoring and alerting standards.
• Collaborate with DevOps, SRE, and development teams to align strategies.
