Job summary

Hammerjack Pty Ltd is seeking a seasoned Network Engineer to design, secure, and optimize enterprise networks across on‑premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. You will help shape architectures, standards, and best practices while collaborating with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of hands-on experience, deep routing/switching expertise, and a strong background in Cisco, Palo Alto, and F5 technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on enterprise network engineering experience.
• Deep expertise in routing, switching, wireless networking, and network security.
• Experience supporting large-scale, enterprise, or mission-critical environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with platforms such as Cisco, Palo Alto, F5, or similar enterprise technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, and cloud networking solutions.
• Lead network transformation, upgrade, and modernization initiatives.
• Develop architecture standards, technical documentation, and best practices.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative networking solutions.
• Provide Tier 2/3 support for complex network incidents and critical outages.
• Conduct root cause analysis and drive permanent solutions to recurring issues.
• Proactively monitor and optimize network performance, availability, and reliability.
• Participate in incident response and on-call support activities when needed.
• Implement and manage network security technologies including firewalls, VPNs, NAC, segmentation, and secure remote access solutions.
• Partner closely with cybersecurity teams to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
• Support audit, compliance, and risk management initiatives.

What You'll Do

Design & Architect Modern Networks

• Design, implement, and support enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, and cloud networking solutions.

Enable Cloud & Hybrid Connectivity

• Design and support cloud networking solutions across Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Build and optimize hybrid-cloud and multi-cloud network architectures.
• Integrate networking services with enterprise infrastructure platforms.
• Drive automation initiatives using Infrastructure-as-Code and modern network management practices.

Lead Strategic Projects

• Own the technical delivery of network projects from planning through implementation.
• Collaborate with vendors, service providers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the growth of the team.
• Create implementation plans, testing strategies, and deployment procedures that ensure successful outcomes.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on enterprise network engineering experience.
• Deep expertise in routing, switching, wireless networking, and network security.
• Experience supporting large-scale, enterprise, or mission-critical environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with platforms such as Cisco, Palo Alto, F5, or similar enterprise technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Cisco CCNP or equivalent certification.
• Experience with cloud networking architectures.
• Experience implementing or supporting SD-WAN environments.
• Knowledge of automation and ing using Python, PowerShell, Terraform, or Ansible.
• Advanced certifications such as:
• CCIE
• CISSP
• Azure Network Engineer Associate
• AWS Advanced Networking Specialty
