Job summary

Merlin Labs is seeking a senior Mechanical Engineer to design, integrate, and test avionics and control components for aircraft and test labs. You will lead mechanism design, controls analysis, and environmental assessments, while delivering CAD support and documentation.

Role requires 5+ years in mechanical/aerospace engineering, proficiency with major CAD tools, and strong communication skills. Travel 25–50% for on-site integration and testing worldwide.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering and 5+ years experience.
• Advanced modeling with SolidWorks, Catia, OnShape, Fusion360, or Creo.
• Experience leading engineering activities such as mechanism design and controls.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, integrate, and test avionics and control components for aircraft and test labs.
• Oversee and/or perform design and analysis tasks for system integration including stress and model analyses.
• Provide CAD work in support of design activities, including GD&T.
• Support testing activities and document test plans, data analysis, and reports.
• Prepare and coordinate mechanical design and fabrication drawings and related documents.
• Travel up to 25-50% to domestic and international locations for integration and testing.
