Job summary

Q2 HR Solutions is seeking an experienced Marine Manager / Designated Person Ashore (DPA) to lead safe, compliant and efficient operations across the fleet from the Alabang office. The role serves as the formal link between ship and shore, ensuring effective SMS implementation and continuous safety improvements.

Key duties include acting as DPA under ISM, guiding navigation, cargo operations, emergency response, audits, and regulatory inspections.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Marine Transportation or equivalent.
Master Mariner / Captain license preferred.
Minimum 12 years sea-going experience with 2–3 years as Master (tankers preferred).
5–7 years in ship management at supervisory/managerial level.

Responsibilities

Act as DPA under ISM Code and liaise between ships and shore management.
Lead safety and environmental compliance, monitor incidents and corrective actions.
Advise on cargo planning, loading, stowage, passage planning and navigational risk.
Oversee audits, vetting, and regulatory inspections; maintain compliance calendar.
Monitor weather and navigational risk; issue advisories and route recommendations.
Oversee crew training, competency development, and crew matrix compliance.
Prepare and manage the Marine Department budget and drive cost controls.
Coordinate with vessels for audits, inspections, emergencies, and safety escalations.
