Job summary

Essilor Shared Services Philippines Incorporated seeks an experienced Quality Assurance professional to lead testing activities for software releases. You will design test plans, write test scripts, and certify defects while ensuring adherence to CMMI standards.

The role requires 5+ years in QA/testing, strong API/SQL knowledge, and experience with Postman/Newman for API automation. Onsite with occasional travel to Alabang, 3 days on site and 2 days work-from-home, midshift schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or College degree in Industrial Engineering, Management Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• At least five years of experience in Quality Assurance and/or testing.
• Intermediate knowledge in API and SQL.
• API automation using Postman/Newman - JavaScript.
• Proficient in writing test cases and test scripts.
• Experience in creating a Master Test plan.
• In-depth understanding of QA methodologies and Software Development Life Cycle (Waterfall and Agile).
• Exposure to manufacturing, distribution or financial operations is a plus.
• Willingness to travel to other sites; 3 days onsite, 2 days WFH in Alabang.

Responsibilities

• Execute and certify tests for software releases, including functional, integration and regression testing.
• Write clear defect reports and track issues through resolution.
• Create Test Summary Reports and Acceptance Certificates.
• Collaborate with Senior Manual Quality Analyst on RTM, test cases and reports.
• Mentor and guide Junior Manual Quality Analysts.
• Enforce QA procedures across the Software Development Life Cycle.

Job description

1. Quality Process Mastery

• a. Understand and comply with the defined and agreed Software Development Life Cycle and CMMI standards of the organization.
• b. Understands various approaches used in testing such as System, Integration and Regression.
• c. Able to apply appropriate test design techniques in writing test cases.
• d. Creates test plan and test effort estimation for small to medium sized projects.
• e. Reviews test cases and test scripts written by Junior Manual Quality Analyst. Make recommendations as necessary.
• f. Writes test cases and test scripts, creates test data and requirement traceability matrix.
• g. Properly executes the given test cases / test scripts, identifies the correct behavior of the system under test, replicates and reports uncovered defects.
• h. Performs the activities necessary to execute tests in accordance with the test plan and test design (including setting up tests and test data).
• i. Tests and certifies software defect fixes and new functionality. Executes functional, application and regression tests for software releases.
• j. Writes clear and precise defect reports as required for identified software defects and functional defects based on testing results.
• k. Writes and submits Test Summary Report and/or Acceptance Test Certificate.
• l. Collaborates with Senior Manual Quality Analyst in peer review of the RTM, test cases and test summary report and/or acceptance test certificate documents.
• m. Reviews and analyzes test results and makes recommendations
• n. Enforces quality procedures and guidelines across the Software Development Life Cycle.
• o. Contributes to the continuous improvement of the QA procedures and guidelines.
• p. Satisfy customer by providing clear testing specifications and quality product according to specified requirements.
• q. Exhibits confidence in understanding the business concerns and provides sound business suggestions and recommendations accordingly.

2. Administrative Tasks

• a. Records activities in ATLAS and reports/elevates issues to superior when needed.
• b. Conducts needed validation to ensure compliance to the procedures in CMMI.
• c. Prepares and submits needed reports.
• d. Mentors and guides Junior Manual Quality Analyst.

3. Teamwork

• a. Closely coordinates with other team members of the applications development and support.
• b. Facilitates effective team interaction adhering to the values of the company and meeting the objectives.
• c. Ability to adjust flexibly to help other team members to ensure continuity of providing service.

• a. Expand knowledge on business process and IT related information
• b. Stay abreast of current technology, system information, problems, changes and updates relevant to the team.

The candidate must have:

• obtained a Bachelor’s or College degree in either of the following - Industrial Engineering, Management Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology and/or related field.
• at least five (5) years working experience in Quality Assurance and/or testing;
• Intermediate knowledge in API and SQL
• Can do API automation using Postman/Newman - Javascript
• Must be proficient in writing test cases and test scripts;
• Must have an experience in creating a Master Test plan;
• Must have an in-depth understanding of Test Design Techniques, QA methodologies and Software Development Life Cycle (both Waterfall and Agile Development);
• With extensive knowledge of QA testing tools, different test design techniques, standards and processes;
• Exposure in business operations related to manufacturing, distribution and financial operations will be an advantage;
• Experience in various system development environment;
• Experience in leading a small QA team in a small to medium sized projects will be an advantage;
• ISTQB Testing certification is a plus but not required;
