Job summary

Essilor Shared Services Philippines Incorporated is seeking an experienced Automation Quality Assurance specialist to join our QA team in Metro Manila. The role focuses on designing and executing automated tests, developing robust test scripts, and ensuring software quality across systems.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years in automation QA, hands-on Robot Framework experience, and strong knowledge of Java, scripting, and backend testing with tools like Postman and SoapUI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Management Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
• At least three (3) years of Automation Quality Assurance experience and/or testing with knowledge of Java, JavaScript, C, or C# and shell scripting.
• At least 1 year experience in Robot Framework.
• Working knowledge of white box and grey box testing.
• Experience with at least one test automation framework (TDD or BDD) and backend automation tools (Postman, SoapUI, REST API).
• Experience with databases such as Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, or MongoDB.
• Experience in creating a Master Test Plan and understanding QA methodologies and SDLC.
• Willingness to travel to other sites and 5 days RTO; preferably living near Alabang.

Job description

1. Quality Process Mastery

• a. Understand and comply with the defined and agreed Software Development Life Cycle and CMMI standards of the organization.
• b. Understands various approaches used in testing such as System, Integration and Regression.
• c. Develop and establish existing automation strategies and processes of the organization.
• d. Implement and review the design and development of all aspects of automation testing (e.g. creation, execution and maintenance of automated test scripts).
• e. Collaborates with the Manual Quality Team for the test cases to automate.
• f. Executes manual test cases if necessary.
• g. Implement and monitor all automation processes and create status reports for progress.
• h. Provide inputs regarding improvements of tools and environment of existing automation framework.
• i. Enhance the architecture of existing automation framework and test script in collaboration with Senior Automation Quality Analyst.
• j. Employ a variety of testing techniques to deliver product releases successfully including functional, regression and system tests.
• k. Collaborate with the automation engineering team and contribute to overall automation efforts.
• l. Creates test plan and test effort estimation for small to medium sized projects.
• m. Properly executes the test scripts, identifies the correct behavior of the system under test, replicates and reports uncovered defects.
• n. Tests and certifies software defect fixes and new functionality. Executes functional, application and regression tests for software releases.
• o. Writes clear and precise defect reports as required for identified software defects and functional defects based on testing results.
• p. Writes and submits Test Summary Report and/or Test Acceptance Certificate.
• q. Collaborates with Senior Automation Quality Analyst in the Peer Review of automated Test Cases and Test Summary Report and/or Acceptance Test Certificate.
• r. Reviews and analyzes test results and makes recommendations.
• s. Enforces quality procedures and guidelines across the Software Development Life Cycle.
• t. Contributes to the continuous improvement of the QA procedures and guidelines.
• u. Satisfy customer by providing clear testing specifications and quality product according to specified requirements.
• v. Exhibits confidence in understanding the business concerns and provides sound business suggestions and recommendations accordingly.

2. Administrative Tasks

• a. Records activities in ATLAS and reports/elevates issues to superior when needed.
• b. Conducts needed validation to ensure compliance to the procedures in CMMI.
• c. Prepares and submits needed reports.
• d. Mentors and guides Junior Automation Quality Analyst and/or Manual QA Team.

• a. Closely coordinates with other team members of the applications development and support.
• b. Facilitates effective team interaction adhering to the values of the company and meeting the objectives.
• c. Ability to adjust flexibly to help other team members to ensure continuity of providing service.

• b. Stay abreast of current technology, system information, problems, changes and updates relevant to the team.

The candidate must have:

• Obtained a Bachelor’s or College degree in either of the following - Industrial Engineering, Management Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology and/or related field.
• at least three (3) years working experience in Automation Quality Assurance and/or testing with professional knowledge in any programming language (Java, JavaScript, C, C#) and shell scripting.
• At least 1 year experience in robot framework.
• Working knowledge in different types of testing, both in white box and of grey box testing.
• Working knowledge on at least 1 test automation framework (TDD or BDD) and backend automation framework (Postman, SoapUI, REST API)
• Working knowledge on any database technology (Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB)
• Must have an experience in creating a Master Test plan;
• Must have an in-depth understanding of Test Design Techniques, QA methodologies and Software Development Life Cycle (both Waterfall and Agile Development);
• With substantial knowledge of QA testing tools, different test design techniques, standards and processes;
• Exposure in business operations related to manufacturing, distribution and financial operations will be an advantage;
• Experience in various system development environment;
