hammerjack invites a Senior Managed Services Consultant to join our team after implementation, delivering hands-on platform administration, configuration guidance, and functional advice for complex billing needs. You will spend ~80% on client delivery and ~20% on leadership and coaching, with remote work options and occasional on-site visits on request.
Ideal candidates have 4–5+ years in managed services or related fields, strong billing knowledge, API familiarity, and excellent communication.
Turn complex billing operations into lasting customer value. We’re looking for a hands‑on senior consultant who can solve platform issues, guide clients through configuration and process decisions, and help establish a new managed services practice. If you combine functional billing knowledge, technical curiosity, and calm, transparent leadership, you’ll thrive in this role.
Work Setup: Remote. Shifting Schedule. Onsite schedules upon client request.
As our Senior Managed Services Consultant, you’ll work directly with clients after implementation, combining hands‑on platform administration, troubleshooting, configuration, and functional advice to support complex billing requirements. You’ll spend approximately 80% of your time on client delivery and 20% supporting practice leadership, coaching teammates, and strengthening ways of working.
Lead Client Delivery: Serve as a senior post‑implementation contact, build trusted relationships, and provide clear, consultative guidance on platform capabilities and client processes.
Administer & Configure: Perform hands‑on platform administration, configuration, pricing, invoicing, workflow, and enhancement activities.
Troubleshoot & Resolve: Investigate functional and technical issues, identify root causes, coordinate resolution, and communicate progress clearly to stakeholders.
Advise on Solutions: Translate business and billing requirements into workable platform approaches, functioning as a practical mini solution architect for clients.
Protect Billing Accuracy: Support complex processes such as billing runs and invoicing, resolve exceptions, and reduce the risk of revenue leakage or service disruption.
Maintain Integrations: Monitor and troubleshoot connections with CRM, ERP, payment, tax, and other business systems using APIs, SQL, and available diagnostic tools.
Manage Service Commitments: Prioritize requests, track work, and deliver enhancements and issue resolution within agreed SLAs and allocated service hours.
Improve Client Operations: Identify configuration drift, under‑utilization, recurring issues, and opportunities to simplify processes or improve reporting and analytics.
Support Practice Leadership: Assist the program lead with delivery coordination, governance, reporting, process development, and the growth of the managed services function.
Coach the Team: Share knowledge, mentor colleagues with patience and clarity, accept constructive feedback, and speak up early when requirements or instructions are unclear.
4–5+ years of relevant experience in managed services, software support, solution consulting, professional services, or platform implementation.
Hands‑on experience with a comparable billing/monetization platform is required.
Strong functional knowledge of billing systems, including pricing, rating, invoicing, subscriptions, usage, and related business processes.
Strong troubleshooting, issue‑resolution, and platform‑configuration skills.
Working knowledge of SQL for investigation, data validation, or reporting.
Proven client‑facing experience, with confidence explaining platform capabilities, managing expectations, and guiding decisions.
Experience with APIs and integrations involving CRM, ERP, payment, tax, or related enterprise systems.
Exposure to Salesforce, NetSuite, Oracle, Zuora, or other core billing and business platforms is advantageous.
Reporting and analytics experience in any enterprise system is desirable.
ITIL or relevant product certification is an advantage.
Excellent written and verbal communication, sound judgement, and a calm, coachable approach to feedback and collaboration.
Willingness and ability to transition to a long‑term night shift after onboarding; this requirement will be confirmed during initial screening.
Exposure on any of the industries: SaaS, software, IoT, tracking and analytics, telecommunications, healthcare, logistics, or another billing‑intensive environment.
Depth in integrations and API management, data and reporting, revenue recognition and general ledger processes, or usage‑based billing and rating.
Experience helping establish a new service capability, defining operating processes, or supporting a growing consulting practice.
