ConnectOS is seeking a life insurance underwriter with 5+ years of experience to join our growing insurtech startup on the ground floor. You will evaluate risks, guide policy decisions, and collaborate with a cross-functional team in Metro Manila.

You will analyze medical, non-medical, and financial factors, communicate decisions clearly, and help shape underwriting processes. Industry designations (LOMA, ALMI, FMLI, ALU, FALU) are a plus.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of underwriting experience in life insurance.
• Knowledge of risk selection across medical, non-medical, and financial risks.
• Current or completed industry designations (LOMA/ALMI/FMLI/ALU/FALU) preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and a collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Understand underwriting policies, guidelines, practices and procedures.
• Evaluate risks by medical history, occupational hazards, and financial background to decide on acceptance, modification, or decline.
• Clearly communicate underwriting decisions in writing and verbally.
• Influence process improvements while maintaining mortality expectations.
• Gather information efficiently to support decision making.
• Work independently on assigned requests with minimal direction.
• Adapt to ambiguous situations.
