ConnectOS is seeking an experienced life insurance underwriter to join our growing insurtech team in Manila. With 5+ years in risk selection, you will evaluate medical, financial, and occupational factors to determine acceptance, modification, or decline of risks, and communicate decisions clearly.

You will collaborate across teams, improve underwriting processes, and support a fast-paced digital-first environment while maintaining mortality expectations.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years experience in life insurance underwriting.
• Knowledge of risk selection: medical, non-medical, financial.
• Ability to communicate underwriting decisions clearly.
• Experience with term and permanent life insurance underwriting.

• Term and permanent life insurance underwriting
• In process or completed industry designations, i.e. LOMA, ALMI, FMLI, ALU, FALU

• Understand underwriting policies, guidelines, practices and procedures
• Determine whether to accept, modify, or decline a risk through evaluation of an individual's medical history or physical condition, occupational hazard, and financial background
• Communicate effectively both written and verbally to explain underwriting decisions
• Influence and champion changes to improve processes while maintaining mortality expectations Work efficiently to gather information necessary for decision making
• Ability to independently work assigned requests with minimal direction.
• Comfortable with ambiguity.
